Mission: The Knights of Columbus is the largest Catholic lay organization in the world with over 1.7 million members in Europe, Asia and the U.S. It was founded by Fr. Michael McGivney in New Haven, Ct in 1882 to help his parishioners. The Knights have grown into a major fraternal order influencing not only local but regional and national issues as well as running one of the most respected insurance companies in the country.
Participation: Each year Knights around the globe donate 68 million volunteer hours and over 144 million dollars in charitable contributions. Council 228 serves a round table of churches which include Sacred Heart Parish, St Anthony of Padua Parish and St Louis Parish from which we are based.
Our Council strives to continue our dedication to the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. We accept applications for membership from all Catholic gentlemen who are in good standing with the Church .We participate in activities that benefit our Church, community and our fellow man.

Our Council is looking to expand membership at Sacred Heart Parish inviting all men in the parish to become involved in our Council. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month in the St. Louis Parish Hall at 7:00 pm.
